The making of Asia Bondage Magazine
As a prolific collector of bondage magazines and someone who loves to see different types of rope bondage, I felt that there was a gap in the market for a magazine that celebrates the diversity of rope talent across Asia.
Back in 2019, my partner and I moved to Asia from London and were struck by some of the differences we saw in the rope scene. The most obvious difference from Europe, where for a lot of events have publicly available ticketing and even walk in options, was that in many countries in Asia, rope events are private, in secured locations and are open for a select few vetted members. In order to attend your first event, you often need to know someone who can vouch for you, or have a face to face meeting with organisers of your own accord.
The concern for privacy has meant that it has sometimes been harder artists living in the region to get as much exposure as their American or European counterparts. Ironically, even though rope bondage is more culturally salient in various countries in Asia, there is so far no publication similar to Japanese or European works.
To help highlight the vast number of professionals and talented rope artists, we invite you to join us in sharing their works.
